"WRONG! I'm SUPER important!"
If you hadn't realized it by now, Leo's big motif is "lions" and with lions come the concept of pride. Leo has an enormous amount of pride, and it is the canvas upon which the rest of his personality is constructed. This pride manifests in positive ways, in which he is an excellent leader and inspiration to others with his hard working attitude and belief in the human spirit. But it also manifests in having a short temper and an absolute hatred of losing. And sometimes, it manifests in just plain comically stupid ways, such as him creating his own dictionary. No, seriously, the guy is creating his own dictionary. He sees zero things wrong with this idea. But yes, to summarize, Leo is all about pride. Leo has a very heart-on-sleeve and robust (more loud than anything) way of speaking and presenting himself that makes it fairly easy for people to believe in him as well. Leo is nothing if not honest about his feelings at times, especially when it comes to him being uncertain about Ky's recklessness (seriously he complains about Ky a great deal). His relationship with Elphelt is similar in that he makes no hiding of his distrust of her in the beginning, but accepts her as an ally as story progresses, and is pretty forthcoming about that as well. However, that aspect of him is a bit misleading, as Leo is quite reserved in many ways. He plans his actions extremely carefully and guards his more honest thoughts unless he's in very specific company. He understands all to well the political nature of his position and the various players anteing for position during the game's story. And he plays it just as well as any of them, remaining secretive and calm when he needs to. The last major personality point worth mentioning is Leo's compassion. It isn't his pride and strength alone that drew others to him, but the love he has for his people and his subordinates. During a noted battle of the Crusades, the war prior to the modern setting of the game itself, he and his unit were in a certain death situation, but he refused to send the soldiers he loved to their deaths, and instead fought against impossible odds to see them delivered to their homes. Another way it manifests is in his treatment of the younger characters in the game, having a definite soft spot for kids... or at least kid-like characters, given May and Elphelt are literally adults. Either way, there is a strong kindness within him. A strong everything, really. DO YA GET IT YET? Guilty Gear is not noted for its subtlety. |
Abilities/Talents/Equipment
Leo's a hell of a bruiser. He is ridiculously strong, far more so than that of a normal human. His own claim is he is "ten times" stronger than a 'normal man', and backs it up with various feats of strength in combat. Even more so, he can make himself nearly two hundred times stronger than a 'normal man' for short bursts, such as during his Windrad des Weltraum attack. Leo also has skill as a tactician and has proven himself a clever strategist in the series, with the plan he and Dr. Paradigm concocted to stop the Conclave's use of The Cradle. But for the most part, he is just pure brute force. Twin Greatswords (Sieglinde and Siegmund): Named after legendary heroes from Wagner's Ring Cycle, Leo's great swords are as large and heavy as he is. They start as simple bucklers attacked to his belt, but when he activates the latent magic within, they grow into enormous cross shapes. He uses them not unlike Japanese tonfa, though with a far more brutal and violent style. He can transform their shape further, as seen in the above link. Personal Dictionary: Yep. It's exactly what it says on the tin. All definitions are his own, and it's very extensive. He refers to it regularly. | |
